Trust as the foundation of business - Agnieszka Socha's reflection after reading the SWPS report

Agnieszka Socha, owner of WorkerService, comments on the results of the report "Social Capital and Trust in Polish Business 2025" and explains why honesty and full legal employment are the foundation of running her company.

This morning's conversation with my friend Kamila gave me much to think about. We talked about trust in companies in my industry and general trust in entrepreneurs. Earlier, I came across the report "Social Capital and Trust in Polish Business 2025", prepared by SWPS University, and its data proved very revealing.

What the report shows

  • 85% of Poles believe that you need to be careful not to be deceived.
  • 54.4% of entrepreneurs gave up cooperation due to lack of trust in the other party.
  • The cost of lack of trust to the Polish economy was estimated at 974 billion zlotys annually.

These numbers show that today one of the biggest challenges in business is not merely sales, costs or competition. It is credibility.

Honesty as foundation, not advantage

I have been running companies for over 20 years and I fully understand entrepreneurs' caution. I myself have encountered situations in which other entities employing foreigners tried to build price advantage by circumventing regulations or using solutions that should never have taken place.

That is why at WorkerService from the beginning we have focused on full legal employment and residence. Every person employed by us has the required residence documents and work permits, and all due contributions and taxes are paid from wages. That is exactly why I am not afraid to be the face of my company, its president and owner at the same time.

As owner and president of all my companies, I take full responsibility for them.

Because in times when trust becomes a scarce good, honesty ceases to be an advantage. It becomes the foundation of business.

I thank Kamila for inspiring me to write about this. For me it is obvious, but sometimes even obvious things are worth saying out loud.
