July 4th and the memory that shaped WorkerService
On the occasion of US Independence Day, Agnieszka Socha, owner of WorkerService, recalls her Work & Travel program trip to Minnesota. This experience from 21 years ago still influences how the company treats people coming to Poland in search of work.
Today the United States celebrates its Independence Day. For Agnieszka Socha, owner of WorkerService, it is also an opportunity to remember an incredibly important chapter in her life.
Exactly 21 years ago, while still a student, she went to the USA as part of the Work & Travel program. She worked at Coho Cafe & Bakery and WatersEdge Trading Company, in a small town of Tofte in Minnesota. She lived above the cafe together with other students from all over the world - from Jamaica, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Slovakia.
It was there that she earned her first substantial income, learned independence and responsibility, and became convinced of how much opportunity legal work abroad can provide.
Perhaps that is why today she supports with such conviction people who come to Poland to work honestly. She herself was once on the other side - she knows how much courage a move to a foreign country requires and what an enormous opportunity it can become for a young person.
These experiences shaped her both as an entrepreneur and as a person. To this day, she believes that work can bring together people of different cultures, if only it is based on respect, legality and mutual trust - values that have accompanied WorkerService's activities for years.
